Snow Lake Hike

10.10.12

Hearing Alpental's chair 1 running when we got out of the car was almost too much to handle, ready for some powder!!

Looking back at the Alpental parking lot before heading up the switchbacks to the top

Spotting zones and lines in the Alpental Backcountry from a far, Great Scott Bowl in the background.

Camp robbers!

Stopped for some snacks and taking in the sights at the top, these guys decided to follow us to the lake basin.

This lake is by far the coldest water I have ever swam in, since it was the afternoon and October we decided to pass on swimming. But in August 10' I swam here and holy moly that water will get the blood flowin'.

Last minute Westport surf trip!

10.6.12 - 10.7.12

After the Downtown Throwdown rail jam** in Seattle on Saturday we decided to make an end of the summer surf trip to Westport, WA. So we packed up, headed out, and got into town around 11pm. Since all camp sites were closed by this time we began searching for a spot to camp in the dark. It was a task, but we managed to find a dirt path that was just wide enough to get my car deep into the woods. Since it was late we decided to just sleep in the car, Paul kicked the passenger seat back and Naima and I slept in the back of the car with the seats folded down. So I guess my Subaru sleeps three.

**(Photo recap by Paul Stanley, if you don't already follow his photo blog you probably should)

Rentals acquired!

Met up with the rest of the dudes at the surf shop and rolled nine deep to the beach! The next day I thought my arms were gonna fall off, mad respect for the dudes that make it out past the break.

There's something behind me, isn't there...

Rattlesnake Ledge

10.1.12

This short 4 mile hike in the North Bend/Snoqualmie Pass area has a stunning view in all directions! The faint body of water in the background, Chester Morse Lake, supplies Seattle with a significant portion of its drinking water!

(Rattlesnake Lake at the bottom) Watch your step near the edge of this ledge! 300ft to the bottom

There were a ton of chipmunks and squirrels hanging out at the viewpoint fighting over snacks.

When they got food they immediately went down into this huge rock crevasse, that definitely needed to be explored.

Afterwards we got some grub at the last remaining XXX diner in Issaquah, WA.
Great burgers & Root-beer Floats!
